Financial Systems Business Analyst
91³Ô¹ÏÍø has an opening for a Financial Systems Business Analyst.
Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Controller, the Financial Systems Business Analyst is responsible for all aspects of management for various financial systems in use by the College across its accounting, accounts payable, payroll, student accounts, and budgeting functions. The Financial Systems Business Analyst analyzes, designs, and implements financial systems and processes to support the college's financial operations. He or she works to ensure the effective use of financial systems and contribute to the overall efficiency of the college's financial management.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions to streamline operations and improve accuracy.
- Ensure optimal implementation, configuration, and management of all finance systems, processes, and data.
- Participates and supports financial system implementation efforts in concert with Controller’s Office colleagues.
- Provide direct support to finance, accounting, accounts payable, payroll, student accounts staff for day-to-day operational and reporting needs.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data, perform data analysis, and generate reports to support decision-making
- Lead the evaluation of system patches and regular upgrades for overall functionality and system changes, fixed issues, problems, and enhancements.
- Maintain testing protocols for software implementation and upgrades.
- Lead testing effort for all software patches and upgrades and coordinate with the College’s IT staff.
- Support current cross-system and third-party integrations and lead establishment of new integrations in coordination with the College’s IT staff.
- Researches and evaluates the need for potential new and/or additional modules, applications or upgrades and provides recommendations to help improve business processes.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system processes, user guides, and technical specifications.
- Provide on-going support and training to campus financial system users at large.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least four years of demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst or similar in a financial or IT environment, preferably in higher education or a similar sector.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, processes, and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software applications (e.g., ERP systems, accounting software) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
- Demonstrated skill in ERP report building.
- Prior experience with Workday and familiarity with Workday Report Writer or Prism Analytics is desirable.
- Attention to detail required to deliver high-quality, error-free reports and deliver complex integration solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively and to effectively develop and lead processes.
- Integrity, the highest ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately; must pass pre-employment background checks and qualify to be bonded.
- High level of professionalism, motivation, enthusiasm, initiative, self-direction, and the ability to work under pressure and manage numerous deadlines simultaneously.
